How to ask us to remove material, what happens when you do, and how to respond if your content was removed.
Rights holders: file a notice with the form at the end of this page (no account needed) or email support@wordtoclip.com. Say who you are, link the exact material, name the work, and confirm the statement in section 3. A person reviews every notice; we aim to review notices promptly, usually within 48 hours.
Contents
1. Clips published by users
Every short in the community feed, on a creator page or on its own page is published by a WordToClip user, who is responsible for it under the Terms. A short is not endorsed by anyone appearing in the footage.
To flag one short, use Report on it (on its page, or the flag beside it in the feed); a rights holder can choose “Rights holder claim (DMCA)” there, or file a notice with the form below.
2. What this policy covers
WordToClip respects copyright. If you hold rights in something shown here, you can ask us to remove it. That can be:
- a video in the archive (with its transcript and previews);
- a short a member published in the community feed;
- a music track a member uploaded.
We handle notices under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. §512), and the same form is our notice-and-action channel under the EU Digital Services Act. For a complaint that is not about copyright (privacy, likeness, defamation), write to support@wordtoclip.com instead.
3. How to file a notice
Use the form below. You do not need an account. A valid notice contains:
- Who you are: your name, or the rights holder you act for (“Your name” field); typing your name is your electronic signature.
- How to reach you: an email address where we can reply (“Email”).
- The material: a link to each specific video (“Link to the video”; put further video links in the claim text). A link to the video on WordToClip or at its original source (Rumble, YouTube) both work. For a published short, put its link in the link field, one short per notice. Uploaded tracks are private, so describe the track and name a short or clip it was heard in. We act on individual items, at most 50 links per notice; we do not accept requests to remove a whole channel or “everything”.
- The work and your claim: which copyrighted work is infringed and why the use is not authorised (“What is being claimed”).
- The sworn statement: that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised, that the notice is accurate, and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them (the checkbox).
You can also send a notice with the same details by email to support@wordtoclip.com, or by post to the address in section 9. Knowingly false notices can make you liable for damages (17 U.S.C. §512(f)); we may reject notices that look abusive, and submissions are rate limited.
4. What happens next
- You get a reference at once, and the notice enters our review queue. Nothing is hidden or removed automatically.
- A person reviews every notice. We aim to review notices promptly, usually within 48 hours, and we reply to the email address you gave. If something is missing, we ask for it.
- A notice naming many videos gets extra checks, and we may approve it for only some of the videos named.
- We may reject a notice that is incomplete, does not identify the material, or concerns a use that is plainly lawful, and we write to you to say why.
5. What an approved takedown does
For a video in the archive, an approval hides it from public exposure on WordToClip:
- search results, the video and transcript pages, previews and frames, topics and trending, highlights, share cards and embeds;
- the MCP server and AI mode; copies of the same footage that we know of are hidden with it;
- shorts cut from it are taken out of the community feed and off creator pages;
- where a content delivery network sits in front of the site, its cached copies are purged; new exports are refused, and renders in progress are stopped.
We do not delete what members already made. Clips from the video that are in a member's projects, their saved moments, and exports the member already rendered, stay available to that member only (exports are deleted anyway 7 days after rendering); they no longer surface through search, and no new export can be made from the video. Members are responsible for their own use of those files.
For a published short, it is removed from the feed and from its public page. It is hidden, not deleted: its video, likes and comments are kept out of public reach while any takedown or counter-notice case about it is open, and for 60 days after the last one closes, so the short can come back as it was. For an uploaded track, it is deactivated and can no longer be used in exports, including re-exports of clips that used it.
If we later find the takedown was a mistake, or a counter-notice succeeds, we undo it, which restores what was hidden.
6. Counter-notices
If your short or your upload was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to support@wordtoclip.com. It must contain:
- your name, address, phone number and signature (typed is fine);
- what was removed and where it appeared (the link) before removal;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith the material was removed by mistake or misidentification;
- your consent to the jurisdiction of the US federal district court for your address (or, if you live outside the US, any judicial district where we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the notice.
Our staff forward the counter-notice by email, including your contact details, to the person who filed the notice. Unless they tell us within 10 business days that they have started a court action, we restore the material 10 to 14 business days after we received the counter-notice. If you are in the EU, you can also ask us to review any moderation decision by replying to it; a person who was not involved in the first decision looks at it again.
7. Repeat infringers
Our staff keep a record, by hand, of approved notices against each member's shorts and uploads; an approval undone after a successful counter-notice does not count. A member with three approved notices in 12 months, or with one serious enough case, has their account closed under the Terms. We may also refuse a new account from someone whose account was closed this way.
8. Other requests
If you are shown in a video and want a clip of you to stop being shown, or if your request is about your own account or data, write to support@wordtoclip.com or see the Privacy policy.
